Aerotek Hiring for Shipping Clerk – Entry Level at Lake Forest, CA Full Time

Description:

1st Shift 7am-3:30pm, M-F OT as needed

This position will be working closely with the Shipping Department:

80% of day: Responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment.

20% of day: Utilizing sit-down forklift

Duties:

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be pulled, moved, or distributed.
• Perform receiving inspections based on product criteria.
• Compares counts, weighs, or measure of items, of incoming and outgoing shipments, to verify information against purchase orders or other records.
• Affixes labels on packed bags identifying shipment information.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Routes items to their specified destination.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

Experience:

• At least 1 year of sit-down FL experience; past certifications necessary to prove they can effectively and safely operate.

Language Skills:

• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

Computer Skills:

• Knowledge of ERP system to successfully document info.
• Experience dealing with UPS/Fedex.
