About The Role

The People & Partnerships Group manages our people, customer and stakeholder relationships, communications, sustainability, and strategy. They ensure an integrated approach to managing internal and external relationships, promoting a customer-focused and engaged workplace culture.

They oversee strategic customer and stakeholder relationships, communications, and the development of Airways Corporate Strategy, including sustainability. The Group plays a critical role in supporting the business to achieve its objectives by providing high-quality internal service and advice that is proactive, innovative, and impactful.

Reporting to the GM People & Partnership, you will oversee the delivery of strategic communications for Airways. You will also be responsible for ensuring external and internal communication strategies that align with Airways’ overall strategic plan are implemented and delivered.

You will lead the Communications Team in championing our people and their stories, enhancing our culture and engagement, and bringing our values and business strategy to life, and that key internal messages and organisational information can cohesively be disseminated across the organisation.

Key Focus Areas

• Lead the communications team in the creation and implementation of all communications activity, and digital and other content across external communication channels that aligns with strategy and builds the Airways brand.
• Oversee the creation, management, and implementation of digital and internal communications that align with Airways strategic pillars, building blocks and culture programme.
• Oversee PR, external communications, and brand management.
• Provide support for business transformation projects and organisational change.
• Acting, alongside the General Manager People and Partnerships, as the Airways Brand Ambassador at all times.
• Working in partnership with senior leaders to support our people and help ensure a joined up, no-surprises approach to the management of our external and internal brand, culture and engagement.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will have:

• Strong experience managing and leading the business communications function ideally within the aviation or similar industries.
• Demonstrated experience in internal communications, in particular organisational change and with media across all mediums.
• Solid experience managing creatives agencies, project campaigns, events and key relationships.
• Leadership experience with ability to empower and work well with the team.
• Ability to work in a dynamic business environment, influence and collaborate with people internally and externally, show resilience and agility, take ownership and focus on delivering successful business outcomes.
