JOB TITLE: Front Desk Receptionist
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for coordination and scheduling of patient appointments in an efficient and timely manner. Responsible for all check in and check out duties. Responsible for quality interactions with patients and staff in person and on the phone.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Occasional stress from varying demands. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a busy office environment. Frequent contact with employees, patients, physicians and outside agencies.

Education:
Preferred: Some college or continuing education preferred.
Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
One to two years of experience in a customer service setting preferred as well as one year of receptionist/front desk experience in health care, preferably within a medical practice setting. Possesses excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and computer literacy. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
