Overall Purpose of the Role:
This post is located within the Trust’s national team. The post is intended to assist the Head of Inclusion in creating safe environments which ensure that students are supported effectively to attend school, feel valued, and where staff have high expectations of them. This will be achieved through: –
· Promoting good attendance and reducing absence, including persistent and severe absence
· Ensuring that attendance of learners across all key stages, is at least in line with the national average
· Ensuring every pupil has access to full-time education to which they are entitled
· Acting early to address patterns of absence
· Promoting the welfare, development and protection of all pupils
· Co-operating in the multi-agency/disciplinary network of support for pupils within all local authority areas where Trust schools are based
· Assisting in the development and, where necessary, maintenance of effective home-school partnership agreements
· School based interventions
· Robust reward systems
Specific Role Responsibilities:
1. To monitor and support improved attendance in schools within the Trust in line with key identified priorities and Trust-wide systems and processes.
2. Support schools in fulfilling their statutory duties in relation to attendance and be capable of instigating legal action following appropriate protocols.
3. To monitor attendance data for all schools and advise key school and Trust staff of trends, concerns and referrals.
4. Undertake ½ termly attendance certificate and school registration inspections and whole school attendance audits.
5. To prioritise support and interventions for persistent absentees which are specific and impactful and aid in consistent improved attendance.
6. To provide detailed, daily support for schools struggling to address attendance well, stepping in to provide active support, work with the team as required and provide detailed line management and direction at times of poor capacity, crisis or concern. As requested by the Head of Inclusion.
7. Promote schools’ celebration and rewards systems to support with improving attendance.
8. Monitor and support all school-based interventions to ensure that they are recorded and reviewed to measure impact.
9. Support the work with school leaders and School Improvement Partners to develop positive culture as the norm in every Trust school.

To be aware of and work in accordance with the Aldridge Education safeguarding child protection policies and procedures in order to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and to raise any concerns relating to such procedures which may be noted during the course of duty.
The post holder will be required to have a valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate and be re-checked every 3 years as per Trust Wide procedures.
