Alfa Laval NZ Ltd Looking for Sales Engineer — wastewater market at Hamilton Central, Waikato Full Time

We are looking for a passionate Sales Engineer who will be responsible to wastewater treatment market and converting them into profitable business. The person would be closely working with customers focus on new and existing accounts in wastewater treatment. An ideal person would be having mindset of technical sales, carrying an application and product knowledge of AL wastewater treatment application equipment – decanter centrifuge, and Rotary drum thickeners, membrane filtration system.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow established sales processes and guidelines to promote and sell Alfa Laval Product and services;
• Analyze and understand market insights and the customers buying behaviour and make sales plans according to the business division strategy and targets, by working closely with experienced sales and projects team
• Look for and manage leads from the market and customers, and convert them in real business opportunities in other to ensure the pipeline
• Be active in the market and focus on making visits, meetings and interactions to customers, focusing on customer needs understanding and highlighting the value of our products and services
• Runs the commercial operation by managing the customer grid and proactive planning in our tools. Build and maintain a sufficient network at customers
• Develop value quotes reflecting the customer needs stressing the unique selling points and follow up and to get a hit rate
• Use the CRM tool and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way, to support the sales process and take decisions
• Be active member of the sales team in the sales process
• Work in wastewater industry which include contractors and end users
• Product coverage: Decanters, Rotary drum thickeners, membrane filtration system with customer visits and seminars
• Claim handling
• Ownership of sales target in the area of responsibility
• Develop a sales plan for area of responsibility and work proactively and in a structured way in the sales and business development in order to optimize the sales efficiency

What you know?

• You are a proactive, enthusiastic and committed individual with the ability to go after the business development.
• You are responsible for selling Alfa Laval products within the separator business and providing direct support to customers, including technical quotations and support.
• You have a background with digitalized/online products and promoting products through digital platforms and can align with the digital strategies within Alfa Laval.
• At least 2 years working experience in similar position and up to 5 years of total experience.
