Material Specialist (Receiving) – Technical Glass Products – Snoqualmie, WA
Allegion is seeking a Material Specialist (Receiving) to fulfill a full-time position in Snoqualmie, WA at our Technical Glass Products facility.
The Material Specialist (Receiving) will safely and efficiently unload materials, verify quantities against paperwork and perform visual and print inspection to TGP quality standards. This role will be responsible for identifying and communicating quality issues, setting daily priorities based on business needs and processing receiving transactions. You will work independently to maintain an organized material receiving area and provide continuous flow of materials to manufacturing. Additional responsibilities will include physical and administrative tasks involving inventory control, daily data entry, labeling, storing and distributing materials parts and supplies.

What You Will Do:
Safely offload material from containers, trucks and or other vehicles and move to appropriate locations for further processing
Compare vendor packing lists to TGP purchase order, record shortages and report discrepancies to Purchasing team for prompt resolution
Perform quality inspection of incoming shipments to ensure all product meets visual and print specifications
Reject items that fail quality standards and write non-conformance reports to communicate issues in a timely manner
Update the product inventory by entering receiving transactions for each Purchase Order
Print and apply accurate receiving labels to all product after receipt
Route items to put away location, production and various departments
Unpack, label and stock materials and consumables in accordance to storage requirements
Perform regular material warehouse audits to ensure that material is undamaged and maintained neatly throughout the warehouse
Advise management of cycle count issues on a timely basis
Package products for return to vendors and fill out any RMA paperwork necessary prior to the shipment being picked up
Maintain work areas according to 5S principles daily
Visually inspect materials and follow disposal standard operating process.
Support inventory, picking, cycle counting, and other material distribution in the facility as needed.
Assist and support the Supply Chain Team by Planning For Every Part; PFEP
Understand and comply with all appropriate safety and work safety regulations.
Continuously maintain a clean work area including the cleanup and disposal of trash, production scrap, and material drop-off. Assist in cleaning common areas.

What You Need to Succeed:
High School Diploma or GED/equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
2+ years’ warehouse/manufacturing experience, preferably with a focus on quality inspection and receiving
Strong data entry, computer skills and ability to learn new software applications quickly Forklift experience, forklift certification preferred
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 a plus
Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail and prioritizing multiple tasks along with meeting deadlines Demonstrated computer experience in Microsoft Office applications and Material Resource Planning / Enterprise Resource Planning type systems
Ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools and equipment, including; table saws & nail guns
Ability to set rigging and operate lifts and small cranes as needed to perform work
Excellent Customer Service Skills; display a professional ‘can do’ attitude
Consistently demonstrate independent judgment and initiative; driven self-started dedicated to continuous process improvement
Detail-oriented, accurate, dependable and willing to accept a wide variety of assignments
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong math skills
Follow all safety requirements and keep work area clean and orderly
Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly in an environment where heavy work is required and where moderate to loud noise occurs. The employee is in an assembly plant/warehouse environment that can be dusty. May be working around welding operations. Overhead work may be required. There is a frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, twist, bend, lift and move heavy objects (up to 70 pounds) and occasionally lift and move very heavy objects (up to 100 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the work day. Production aids such as tilting assembly tables, overhead cranes and forklifts can be used for these tasks. Personal protective equipment will be required and provided. In addition, the individual in this job will be working under time pressure and must be able to perform under stress. They must be able to work rapidly for long periods and to communicate and interact with others. They also must be able to perform multiple concurrent tasks, read and comprehend the material they read. The employee must be able to write, and problem solve. 40+ hours per week will typically be necessary to accomplish performance objectives and to provide satisfactory job presence and/or responsiveness
