AllPro Recruitment has partnered with Polar Ice Ltd., Ireland’s leading producer of dry ice. They are looking to bring in a Factory Manager to lead the day-to-day manufacturing operations at the Portarlington plant.

This is a key hire for a solid and expanding Company. As Factory Manager you will be part of a small hands-on team of production and maintenance staff. The team is searching for an experienced and supportive leader with a hands-on approach and a positive can-do attitude with a thorough knowledge of quality control. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support your team on the production floor
• Working & troubleshooting on the production and packaging lines
• Manufacturing on a JIT basis and coordinating Customer orders with Operations & Transport Teams
• Production scheduling (5 production lines moving to 7 in 2023) / lead pre-start-up meeting & assign roles and focus for the day
• Lead team toolbox talks and be the Manufacturing Team rep on the H&S Team
• Decision maker and accountable for manufacturing performance
• Preventative maintenance scheduling & implementation
• Coordinate outsourced maintenance/overhauls with approved contractors
• Develop and implement strategies for operational improvements
• Conduct internal audits for cleaning, fabrication, and BRCGS audits
• A quality representative for Manufacturing Team on external audits
• Document control – stock, maintenance, and quality records
• Budget & Cost management / LEAN Metrics reporting for Finance
• Consistent focus on maintaining best practices aligned to quality standards BRCGS / FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO45001, ISO 14001
• Implementing and successfully completing daily & weekly cleaning programs
• Representing Maintenance & Manufacturing as part of the Senior Management team
• Strong communication with all stakeholders – Customers, Staff, Suppliers, Consultants, Contractors, and Community

Your skills and areas of expertise:

• Strong Customer Focus – manufacturing with the customer and end user in mind
• Value and promote a psychologically and physically safe working environment
• Lead Auditor trained, experienced in maintaining quality standards, specifically BRCGS / FSSC 22000 standard
• LEAN trained and strives for continuous improvement
• 5 years+ in Production or Factory Management, with leadership experience
• Proven experience in equipment maintenance
• Electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, pressurized gas/liquid systems, and cryogenics a distinct advantage
• A critical thinker and forward planner, proactive in their work
• Certified Manual handling, Forklift, and Electrical Pallet Truck operation
• Excellent communication skills – listening, written, oral, observation, and understanding
• IT Skills, various ERP packages, and MS Office; Excel, Word & Teams

The package:

• €25/hour; permanent, full-time role (minimum ask is 30hrs p/w, with up to 48hrs available)
• The Company supports a family-first environment, offering a flexible working week through Rotas / and also open to the option of working a 4-day week, however, a minimum of three Saturdays per month is required for the smooth operation of the business.
• 8% of hours worked is provided as paid annual leave per annum
• Twice yearly performance KPI linked bonuses
