Transportation Operations Management (TOM) is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst (BA), TOM Sustainability to help achieve our long-term goal to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040 in alignment with Amazon’s Climate Pledge. The single threaded leader responsible for developing and implementing key performance metrics (KPIs) and programs incorporating sustainability aspects in new facilities and retrofit construction projects across the network, building and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. They will identify, scope, and lead programs in support of our Climate Pledge goal of net zero carbon by 2040 and develop roadmap for network implementation. The Sr. BA will focus on high complexity programs and sustainability initiatives across network stakeholders, consult with Subject Matter Experts, coordinate disparate programs for centralized carbon tracking, sustainability reporting, flood risk prediction and mitigation for operational sustainability, multi-media waste stream tracking, management and mitigation at Amazon yards as well as drive program success.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong record of owning and executing strategic, cross-functional projects in partnership with other teams to drive key Sustainability programs across Transportation Operations Management. This candidate will play a pivotal role in the strategic development and implementation of TOM’s sustainability initiatives within the realm of building operations and construction. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies that enhance productivity, mitigate risk and reduce environmental impact at TOM’s existing and future portfolio. You’ll monitor, enhance, and use yard level and operations sustainability data reporting to drive business changes; set and reach OP1/2 goals; and drive abatement and waste reduction/diversion initiatives across TOM’s infrastructure portfolio. This role requires strong end-to-end project management skills; comfort navigating ambiguity and driving both strategy and execution; effective communication, negotiation, and influencing skills to collaborate with internal and external cross-functional stakeholders; and a genuine interest in identifying and promoting data-driven sustainability strategies within Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across Sustainability, Tech, Real Estate, Finance, Operations, Environmental Compliance, Sustainability, Procurement, Field Operations, and more to build and execute product and program roadmaps for TOM’s sustainability strategy.
Develop a shared vision and align stakeholders on plan and defined milestones, advocating for resources to accomplish plan.
Actively develop and implement processes and mechanisms to increase yard capacity without adversely impacting yard risk and carbon foot print.
Accelerate progress by driving timely and data-driven decisions, surfacing and mitigating risks, and escalating appropriately.
Prioritize analytics initiatives with stakeholders using single source of truth data sets to support strategic long-term organizational goals
Develop scalable and effective mechanisms for reviewing, managing, and reporting on product/program roadmaps.
Identify, execute, and/or improve building construction and retrofit practices, energy efficiency, and waste reduction/diversion programs across the network.
Deeply understand and stay informed on worldwide sustainability initiatives, sustainable building practices and trends, country specific policies, and abatement technologies.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
Experience with Excel
Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of driving process improvements experience in sustainable infrastructure projects and decarbonization technologies
Master’s degree, or MBA in engineering, architecture, sustainability or related field
Active LEED Accredited Professional, Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Professional Engineer Registration and/or other sustainability certification
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects, balancing strategic focuses with operational challenges.
Ability to translate data and complex analytics into an actionable roadmap.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
