WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The American Red Cross is seeking an innovative recovery professional to lead
three main components within the LTR Branch at national headquarters: 1)
Oversee and enhance the Disaster Relief Operation (DRO) to Long-Term
Recovery Operation (LTRO) programming, transition process, and
planning functions, 2) develop recovery strategies, execute
programming, and oversee a portfolio of LTROs, and 3) develop the LTR
leadership cadre. The position will work with NHQ, DRO, Divisional, and
Regional leadership and workforce, facilitating the assessment of individual
and community needs, and leveraging organizational resources to meet those
needs while achieving program goals and objectives. A successful candidate
will have a proven track record of strategic thinking, equitable service
delivery strategies, collaborative leadership, and delivering recovery
services at the individual household and community-wide levels.
This is a full-time, term-limited, work-from-home, benefits eligible
position expected to last through January 2025 with the opportunity to extend
based on business needed.
10% travel annual meetings and deployment .
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD :
Lead initiation and implementation of long-term recovery programs, including
financial assistance, grants, and community recovery support, across
multiple long-term recovery operations in support of impacted individuals and
communities.
Collaborate with internal leadership and stakeholders, at the National,
DRO, Divisional and Regional levels to develop strategies to achieve program
goals and priorities.
Support the transition from response phase to long-term recovery and identify
opportunities for enhanced operational coordination and support.
Serve as a facilitative recovery leader in disaster affected areas.
Execute and/or analyze individual and community-based needs assessments and
develop strategy to address recovery roadblocks and gaps in service and ensure
recovery support is provided to communities of need and vulnerable
populations.
Coordinate with LTR branch leadership and Disaster Finance to prepare and
maintain operational budgets.
Develop and prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for internal and
external stakeholders.
Collaborate with NHQ, divisional and regional teams to ensure regular and
timely communication of program progress, challenges and support needed.
Collaborate with regions to cultivate recovery relationships with key external
partners including local and state government agencies and community groups,
non-profits, and non-governmental organizations.
Support LTR leadership and programs in developing methodologies to execute and
assess compliance, monitoring, and program evaluation.
Create a team environment that promotes creative problem solving,
compassionate service delivery and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Other duties as assigned.
Standard Schedule: This is a full-time, term-limited, benefits eligible
position expected to last through January 2025 with the opportunity to extend
based on business need.
The salary range for this position is $108,900.00 – $130,680.00
Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic
location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be
used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how
many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in
this role.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
required, Master’s degree preferred.Minimum of 7 years of experience in
community organizing, case management, partner-agency relations, and
disaster response/recovery preferable.
Management Experience: 5 years of experience as supervisor or manager of
workforce engaged in direct client contact in an outcomes-based
