The Information Technology Division seeks a Wordpress Developer. This position serves as the product owner for multiple websites. They will be responsible for developing, administering, and improving all websites for the agency and its customers. The individual will work closely with management and other team members to determine website strategy, design, and functionality to satisfy customer and industry standards. This position proactively collaborates with business units to manage content, train users, and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced environment. An ideal candidate will have the ability to work across technical and non-technical audiences while providing excellent customer service. Work is performed under general supervision.

This position is primarily remote, with occasional in-office days required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build functional and easy-to-use websites
• Manage and update website content
• Work with internal and external customers to turn user stories into quality work product
• Perform functional, usability, compatibility, and interface testing on websites
• Work with infrastructure team to coordinate patching and upgrades
• Reduce page load times and ensure sites are performant
• Adhere to design best practices
• Debug pages and fix broken links or images
• Update, maintain and publish website content and review SEO
• Monitor and analyze site performance (e.g., traffic, conversions, updates)
• Respond to customer tickets in a professional and timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge, skills and abilities in Full-Stack web development.
• Experience with front-end frameworks, like Angular, Vue, and AngularJS
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services or other IaaS platforms

PREFERRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Associate degree in web design, software development, or a similar field OR a minimum of two
• years’ relevant and demonstratable work experience
• Demonstratable skills with WordPress development and administration
• Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS, JavaScript, and HTML.
• Knowledge of code versioning tools, including Git, Mercurial, and SVN.
• Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize project requests
• Front-end website design and development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices
• Proficient with modern content management systems and their administration
• Ability to collaborate across diverse groups of technical and non-technical customers
• Working knowledge of WordPress themes and plugins
• Capacity to communicate, present and clearly and concisely, both orally and written
• Exceptional customer service and soft skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
