IT Strategy & Innovation Director
Responsible for designing the strategy, roadmap and architecture to drive technology advances by proactively identifying new technology investments that align with business and operational objectives. The incumbent will provide business unit partners and CIOs with guidance on IT enablement strategies that align with the goals of the Global CIO’s Anthem’s Strategy Realization Office, by leveraging a portfolio of industry leading technologies covering cloud, AI, digital and transformational healthcare technologies along with its partner ecosystems.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
Serve as a thought leader working in collaboration with C-level and Business Decision Makers (BDMs) in developing the vision and strategic roadmaps to connect past successes with future technology goals.
Reimagine the role of technology to innovate and drive the agenda of the Strategy Realization Office of the Global CIO as well as our constituents (Member, Associate, Broker, Physician, Provider and Governments) to inspire and influence business innovation and value enhancements for Payers.
Create a sustainable technology roadmap and investment plan covering a large Payer ecosystem of Enterprise (ERP, HRMS, CRM), Claims, Membership, Medicaid & Medicare, Pharma business systems.
Leverage the power of cloud, AI, digital and transformational technologies by using off the shelf software like Workday, Salesforce, ServiceNow, etc.
Lead the comprehensive design, strategy and architecture by guiding Enterprise Architects and Senior Engineering leaders.
Resolve complex problems and communicate to senior decision makers in a clear, compelling way to drive decisive action while in partnership with others in a large organization.
Ability to operate as an individual contributor and strategic team leader.
Align Strategy Realization Office with the overarching Global CIO’s strategies by advancing technology solutions to support business growth & opportunities.
Serves as an ambassador for the Strategy Realization Office of the Global CIO and related business units.
Support Strategy Realization Office of Global CIO and business partners with budget management, financials, and funding guidance.
Represent Strategy Realization Office of Global CIO in client facing discussions to drive growth & retention.
Support partner evaluations (M&A, build-buy) by connecting IT & Business strategies and influencing adoption of Global CIO’s technology differentiators into overall business strategy to Develop, Implement & Support strategic planning and roadmaps.
Business ideation partner representing IT in solution ideation sessions.
Influence the delivery of new technology solutions to market faster.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 15 years’ experience in technology, product management, strategic planning, and/or consulting, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a healthcare or health plan environment strongly preferred
Executive-level, exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills
Broad understanding of the current and emerging technology landscape, as well as scalable architectures that cover all industry leading trends
High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
Ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic operational execution and delivery, including the coordination of relevant resources
Deep expertise in Networking, Storage Systems, Enterprise Architecture, AWS/GCP/AI/Mobility engineering skills
