Position Summary: Due to continued growth and vertical integration, we have an opportunity for an experienced Mold Maintenance and Repair Technician. Working knowledge of liquid silicone and plastic injection molds. You will work closely with the Tool & Die/Mold Makers, Mold Technicians and Supervisors to coordinate Preventative Maintenance of all production molds, as well as diagnose issues or problems and determine how to repair the tooling using conventional and CNC machine tools.

Duties and Responsibilities: This list is not comprehensive but meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties may be assigned.

• Disassemble molds in an organized manner keeping all components systematically arranged for reassembly.

• Determine condition of cavity surface, cores, ejector pins, springs, and all other components and fasteners for any needed repair or replacement.

• Maintain stock of replacement fasteners, springs, pins, etc. for all production tooling.

• Clean, rebuild and test cold runner manifolds and valves.

• Repair wiring and replace valve pins, guides, and nozzle tips on hot runners.

• Ability to make simply items such as ejector pins, blades and sleeves.

• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• Stay up to date on current mold repair technologies.

• Ability to work directly with 3D models.

• Maintain Mold Log with all PM and repairs documented.

• Follow all ISO quality processes, procedures, and standards for job tasks.

• Must keep work area clean and machines clean and orderly and follow safe working practices.

Required Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience in a molding environment, preferably in a tool room.

• Ability to use precision instruments including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.

• Ability to use Excel and other MS Office software. Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings and other technical data sheets.CAM or CAD experience a plus. Additionally, working with 3D models is highly desired.

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to apply geometric and trig functions to solve calculations.

• Knowledge of all manual machine functions. CNC knowledge a plus.

• Understand and apply precision measuring instruments and other technical documentation.

• Must be able to lift 50lbs, plus stand for extended periods.

• Highly motivated and willing to participate in educational opportunities; read technical publications, attend seminars and training events

Language/Communication Skills: Ability to communicate across functions, professional levels and background.

Computer Skills: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Also desired, knowledge of CAM-TOOL, Fusion360 and Solidworks or other CAD/CAM software. Familiar with Fanuc Control programming language a plus.Essential Job Functions: Critical features of this job are described below.
