Health and Safety Director Ireland
Aramark is currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Director for Ireland. Reporting directly to the President of Ireland, the role holder will oversee the health and safety strategy for Ireland and ensure everyone is working within the health and safety laws and Aramark policies. The health and safety director will be a member of the Ireland Executive Leadership Team. This individual will be accountable for driving a safety culture establishing policies and being a champion of best practice that will create and maintain a safe environment for colleagues and customers across Aramark Ireland. The incumbent of this position will develop and maintain the overall strategy, priorities, and direction for the business, they will have ultimate responsibility for leading people which will encompass supporting the organization to embed our Vision, Mission & Values.
Job Responsibilities
Acting as the overall programme owner for Health and Safety governance across all functions within Ireland and ensuring that the full H&S programme is aligned with the Global programme and industry best practices and standards.
Provide expert advice and guidance to managers, employees, and the Ireland leadership team on H&S matters.
Establishing annual plans and collaborating with key stakeholders to integrate H&S objectives and programme of works.
Assessing impacts of emerging issues and changing business strategies as it relates to H&S programmes and initiatives.
Lead and mentor a team of Safety professionals, providing guidance, support, and fostering their professional growth.
Coordinating the Safety Teams and operational management to drive a positive safety culture and drive the key understanding behind the Aramark goal of Target Zero.
Coordinating the Safety Teams in ensuring compliance with country specific safety regulations and ISO standards.
Extrapolating relevant leading and lagging indicators from collated safety performance data to inform opportunities for continual improvement.
Reviewing collated incident data at regular intervals with the safety team in terms of root cause analysis, lessons learned to ensure effective learnings and actions are implemented.
Reporting incident trends at regular intervals to executive team and agreeing on strategies for improvements to be implemented.
Serve as a point of contact for Safety regulatory agencies and represent the organisation in relevant industry forums.
Qualifications
Hold a diploma or degree qualification in Safety.
Minimum of 7- 10 years of progressively responsible, successful experience in a senior Health & Safety role
Demonstrate experience in maintaining and actively participating in all elements of ISO management systems.
Proven experience in a senior H&S role is essential.
In-depth knowledge of local and government regulations and standards
Possess the ability to lead health and safety projects and influence at an executive and senior level.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to collate and present business reports and provide insights.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative approach
Proven track record in conducting effective investigations, audits, inspections, and compiling comprehensive reports and recommendations.
Need to be based in Ireland.
