This approach will helpus achieve our core mission of breaking the generational cycle of poverty,preventing neglect and abuse and building strong communities.The Child Welfare Trainer position exists to provide new social caseworkertraining by assessing needs, developing curriculum and delivering a trainingprogram in the classroom setting. The Child Welfare Trainer will beresponsible for coordinating newly hired caseworkers through the certificationprocess which includes working in partnership with State staff and the ChildWelfare Training System.In adherence of Public Health Order (PHO) 20-38 issued by the ColoradoDepartment of Public Health & Environment requiring full COVID-19vaccinations for any person entering a State operated or licensed facility,this position within Arapahoe County Department of Human Services is requiredto or has potential of entering a State operated or licensed facility. Tocomply with the public health order as a condition of employment, employeeswill be required to be fully vaccinated. Accommodations formedical/religious reasons may be discussed if employment offer is extended.DutiesAdministers effective, high quality county specific training program thatcomplements the State Child Welfare Training System and Pre-Service TrainingAcademy.Ensures the county training is up to date and relevant to current practice.Assesses current curriculum and makes changes accordingly. Administerstrainings for new workers on a regular and consistent basis. Tracks newworker progress and completion of training. Maintains organized files.Regularly evaluates and solicits feedback of the training curriculum by users(learners, supervisors).Oversee the employee’s training and certification through Pre-ServiceAcademy including monitoring completion of all certification requirements andworking in conjunction with the trainee’s supervisor to schedule learningactivities such as shadowing and observation.Collaborate with other County Departments regarding training issues as needed.Provides regular group coaching sessions on identified topics to providecontinuous learning opportunities on both technical and adaptive skills.Facilitates professional development opportunities for staff includingassessing needs, arranging for experts/speakers to teach and present onidentified topics or by training these topics themselves, setting up andtearing down trainings as needed.Provides Partnering for Safety Training on an ongoing basis.Adheres to professional standards are set primarily through state rules,statutes, and manual regulation.SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Excellent and engaging presentation skillsAdvanced knowledge of ACDHS policies and procedures, business structure andpractices.Advanced knowledge of State of Colorado social work statutory and regulatoryrequirementsKnowledge of professional social work standardsKnowledge of the court system and ability and skill to testify in courtAdvanced knowledge
