Armand Corporation Hiring for Climate Resiliency Specialist at New York, NY Full Time

Armand Corporation is an award-winning construction management firm that has managed public projects in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania for over 31 years. We are currently looking for a full-time Climate Resiliency Specialist to join our team in NY, NY. Reporting directly to the our client. The Specialist may also support the agency’s Climate Resilience program by contributing to guideline updates, research, technical working groups, and related activities, on an as-needed basis.

The Specialist must exhibit strong organizational and communication skills (oral and written), possess extensive project management experience, provide exceptional quality control of all deliverables, and deliver all services on-time.

After initial orientation, the Specialist’s work will be primarily self-directed, with at least weekly supervisor check-ins and weekly team meetings. The services of the Consultant shall include, but not be limited to, providing resiliency and sustainable design services for up to five (5) days a week for a duration up to three (3) years – estimated at 1,920 hours per year and are to be performed as a hybrid work arrangement, with minimum three (3) days per week at the client’s offices – RSD Unit located at 4 World Trade Center, 150 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007, and no more than two (2) days per week remote, as required or unless otherwise directed by the client.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must present the following staff qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

Mandatory qualifications:

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing complex, technically oriented infrastructure studies, assessments, or projects, preferably in the transportation field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of climate resilience/adaptation experience required (7+ years preferred), including strong familiarity (sufficient to manage others) but not limited to:
• Multi-stressor climate risk analysis,
• Coastal and stormwater flood models,
• Geographic Information Systems (GIS),
• Benefit-Cost Analysis,
• Climate change risk communications.

• Strong writing, presentation and meeting management skills required.
• Familiarity with the Port Authority’s facilities and transportation business lines, with expertise in urban rail, mechanically ventilated vehicular tunnels, and/or large commercial aviation facilities preferred.
• Experience with the federal pre-disaster mitigation grant process and climate risk communications proficiency preferred.
• Engineering degree and/or demonstrated engineering management experience preferred.

ASSUMPTIONS:

• Location of Work:
• Off-Site (60-80% time)
• On-Site (20-40% time)
• Occasional travel within the Port District may be required to take part in site visits, all-hands meetings, etc.
• Hours of work: 9am to 5pm or 8am to 4pm, Monday-Friday.
• The client will provide credentials and permissions sufficient to access PA systems essential for the performance of this task order.
• Authority staff will provide direction and support documents as required to perform the work.
