About The Role:

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance & Commercial Director for our ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions New Zealand business. Based on-site in Auckland and reporting to the Senior Vice President and Head of ASSA ABLOY New Zealand, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial and commercial strategies of our organisation. You will provide strong leadership and vision to the finance and commercial teams, drive profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Accountable for the successful execution and continuous improvement of all core financial functions, including: accounts payable/receivable, IRD requirements, monthly financial account preparation and reporting, cashflow management and overseeing the banking and treasury function.
• Responsible for commercial oversight and management including, contract and customer profitability analysis, commercial and financial assessments of new projects .
• Provides business leadership and continuity by acting as 2IC for the Senior Vice President
• Responsible for providing the business with the information and analytical advice to support decision making and overall business improvement.
• Developing, monitoring, and improving the internal control framework for the greater AANZ business
• Ensuring that financial considerations are properly incorporated into key commercial and operational decision-making and strategic planning.
• Identifying opportunities for reducing complexity and the cost of doing business

About you:

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Certified Management Accountant qualification or equivalent degree in accounting and finance
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is advantageous with an “hands on” approach
• Exceptional financial acumen with detailed P&L understanding
• Strategic thinking abilities: critical and strategic thinking about the short-term and long-term financial goals of the organisation, and how to create and capitalise on opportunities for financial growth
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to identify opportunities for improvement
• Ability to work effectively with other departments, including accounting, operations, and sales, to support the organisation’s financial and strategic goals
