Aston Carter Hiring for Payroll Specialist at Ontario, California Full Time

Description:

Understands confidentiality and respect for privileged and confidential information and fulfills this requirement.

Working knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and EEOC standards.

Demonstrates knowledge of Human Resources and payroll policies and procedures.

Audits timekeeping records from timekeeping System for accuracy and completeness.

Makes corrections to timekeeping System as needed.

Ensures that all time sheets have supervisory approval.

Enters time into computerized payroll system.

Runs reports to check for errors, and corrects errors prior to printing checks.

Processes payroll calculation, and generates checks.

Generates direct deposit tape and transmits direct deposit.

Verifies direct deposit amount, after ensuring that trace amount balances with registers.

Runs and distributes all reports associated with payroll processing.

Generates termination and correction checks.

Assists in verifying that all payroll data entry is accurate.

Verifies that hours are paid in compliance with wage and hour regulations and group pay policies.

Generates payroll reports as needed.

Complies and processes wage garnishment orders.

Completes “Request for Check” forms for garnishment payments, credit union deductions, etc.

Ensures that deduction or garnishment checks are mailed in a timely fashion.

Answers employee questions about paychecks, utilizing communication techniques appropriate to the adult, and recognizing cultural diversity, including psychosocial and spiritual factors.

Prepares and submits monthly and quarterly payroll tax returns in a timely manner.

Timekeeping dictionary building as needed.

Responsible for all employee maintenance, i.e.; retros, wage increases, new hires.
