We have permanent positions. In these positions, you will primarily be responsible for the registration of specimens for Covid-19 and some aspects of pre-analytical processing. Rostered shift work is an integral part of these roles. Shifts are 24/7 rostered Monday to Sunday and the hours are predominately evening shifts 3:30pm to 12am.

About you
You will have relevant experience working in a laboratory or NCEA level 2 or other another relevant tertiary qualification. As the hours are predominately 3:30pm to 12am you will be able to commit to these hours and have suitable transport options available to you.

As the ideal candidate for this role, you will have meticulous attention to detail, ability to follow instructions and procedures, analytical skills, time management, excellent written and oral communication, strong data entry and time management skills. It is also important to have good people skills as we work together as a close team that encourages open conversation.

LabPLUS is an IANZ accredited medical laboratory and is one of New Zealand’s premier laboratories. LabPLUS are part of the state-owned Auckland District Health Board. We offer a comprehensive pathology service for Auckland City Hospital, Starship Children’s Hospital, National Women’s Health, and the Greenlane Clinical Centre. About our Automation and Support Services Department
The Automation and Support Services (ALSS) department which consists of Specimen Services, Covid 19 registration, Automation (chemistry) and Tissue Management areas. We are a high workload area and we perform the pre-analytical processing which includes specimens receipt and despatch, registration of specimens, allocating and triaging specimens and tissue management for the Auckland DHB. Our team works with all departments in LabPLUS and operates 24/7.
