Your opportunity

Work as part of a wider cross-functional team to deliver scalable, secure and operationally stable solutions with emphasis on innovation and delivering business value. Assist the technology team and wider business in analysing requirements and designing systems that meet those requirements. Utilise core problem solving skills to resolve issues and explore potential solutions to complex business problems.

• Deliver high quality value focused software solutions as part of a cross functional team
• Deep understanding of common security vulnerabilities and how to mitigate them
• Participate in providing accurate estimations for work and take ownership to meet those estimations
• Champion operational best practices by ensuring continuous improvement in our code bases, deployment pipelines and monitoring solutions
• Ensure relevant documentation is concise, fit for purpose and delivered timely to ensure business knowledge is captured appropriately
• Follow internal coding guidelines and practices and suggest updates when and if required
• Participate in team retros, showcases and wider digital delivery meetings to learn from and share learnings with the wider team
• Always leave code in a better state than you’ve found it, even if it was originally written by another team member
• Utilise in-house and external learning sources to stay abreast of the latest developments in software engineering

About you

We are searching for a professional who will join us in striving to live our values of bold, warm and honest, in everything we do.

Your expertise and qualifications will include:

• Batchelor of Science in Computer Science or related discipline
• 4+ years commercial software development experience in c# .net , Sql server and .net core
• Experienced with cloud technologies – preferably AWS
• Familiarity with Front-end development frameworks
• Working knowledge of documentation, coding, testing and deployment using multiple development languages and platforms
• Demonstrable understanding of security best practices and track record of keeping up to date on latest threats and their mitigation
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply them in the role
• Demonstrably strong understanding of design patterns
• Ability to build strong relationships and trust within the Customer, Digital & Technology team, project teams and with business stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
• Passionate about utilizing technology to solve problems and deliver business value
• Working knowledge of agile software development
