Kitchen Assistant

Ballinderry Nursing Home is situated in a beautiful rural setting near the village of Kilconnell. The purpose-built Nursing Home provides the highest standard of nursing care. It is a family run, private nursing home, caring for 44 Residents in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Ballinderry Nursing home has an exciting opportunity for experienced and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications/skills/Responsibilities

• · Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
• · A good knowledge of food preparation and food hygiene
• · Good communication skills & Organizational skills
• · Report to head chef
• · Assist head chef and Assistant cook
• · Prepare meals for residents
• · Preparation of tables / cleaning / set out condiments etc.
• · Basic food preparation e.g. vegetables / salads
• · Service of hot / cold food
• · Always ensure residents safety in a nursing home setting
• · Cleaning duties washing of dishes / utensils / floors / kitchen areas.
• · Refuse disposal
• · Adhere to all policies and procedures
• · Attend mandatory training courses
• · Maintain good time management skills
• · Attend meetings as required

Salary: €12.50 per hour

All posts are subject to satisfactory references from previous employment, medical and Garda vetting

Job description is to give the post holder an appreciation of the role and the range of duties. Given the nature of the work, that maximum flexibility is required in the nursing home.
