Management Consulting Project Manager (2103261) – Florham Park, NJ

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to serve as a Management Consultant working out of our Florham Park, NJ office. In this role, you will be a member of the Management Consulting group, the global in-house management consultancy of BASF. Our focus is on strategic projects which drive effective change processes. The areas covered range from growth, organizational development, efficiency projects, digitization to acquisition and divestment. We value strong team spirit and actively promote career development within BASF.

You will use your relevant industry experience to advise business and functional units at BASF. In your role, you will deliver impactful recommendations and sustainable solutions to BASF’s senior management team in the fields of Innovation & Growth, Marketing & Sales, Organizational Excellence, Post-Merger Integration/Carve Out, Digitization and Change Management. Alongside classic consultancy services, our inhouse consulting team provides coaching for marketing and sales functions, offers various training and takes over procurement processes. Although not required, international work experience is a plus.

Formula for Success

• Utilizing your strong analytical thinking and proven ability to decompose and structure problems, you will assess options, formulate hypotheses, conduct interviews, collect data, test hypotheses, and collaborate with senior executives and stakeholders in markets and industries where you may have had no previous experience, all against the backdrop of high expectations and tight timelines.

• Leveraging your extensive educational background and relevant work experience you will build a foundation of quantitative, analytical, and interpersonal skills to train internal business units in basic approaches to problem-solving, communication, modeling, and other management consulting techniques and frameworks.

• Successfully engaging across the organization, you will participate in consulting teams consisting of 2-10 consultants on global projects, and drive work-streams with limited supervision, including, but not limited to:

• Assessing primary growth drivers

• Deriving go-to-market strategies

• Developing business cases

• Defining and implementing “transformational initiatives”

• Leading integration efforts for acquisitions and supporting divestments

• Showing digitization capabilities within projects and developing sustainable digital solutions for internal clients

• Your professional experience in a top tier for management or strategy consultancy role will be essential as you drive innovative business modeling, bringing strategies to life and enabling agile organizational set-ups.

• Working well as a team player, you will support business with state-of-the-art pricing, marketing and sales concepts and strategies.

​​​​​​​

• Optimizing and redefining organizational structures and processes, you will support strategy and business model implementation.

​​​​​​​

• Your effective communication skills in English and intercultural orientation will serve you well as you manage mid- to large scale acquisitions and divestments.

• Demonstrating your experience in a global corporate environment working with (executive) management, you will plan, develop, and implement change initiatives with BASF leadership.

• Travel in this role is expected to be up to 25%.
