We are pleased to offer a full-time Inclusion Officer post to join our Elective Home Education (EHE) team within BCP Council’s Inclusion Service.
Please see job description for an overview of some of the key responsibilities, skills required and personal attributes for Inclusion Officers. We would prefer someone with a teaching qualification, or with a qualification in a related field e.g., special education needs.
As an Inclusion Officer for EHE you will be making judgements about the suitability of education provided to children. You will be responsible for organising, carrying out and reporting on a range of education suitability assessments including visiting families at home, evaluating educator’s reports, and discussing education with parents via phone or face to face discussion.
We are a friendly and supportive team with clear processes. You will enjoy making home visits to our diverse and vibrant home educating families. You will be well organised, good at using your initiative and able to keep up with a lively pace of work. You will have an open mind and be a solution-focussed person who enjoys using their skills to ensure children get a suitable education The elective home education team were assessed as good by Ofsted.
You will liaise with colleagues across BCP Children’s services to ensure an understanding of the education EHE children are receiving.
The successful candidate will be working peripatetically across BCP.
