Benmax NZ Limited Looking for HVAC Tradesperson at Phillipstown, Canterbury Full Time

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic HVAC tradesperson to join our busy team in Christchurch. You will use your experience and skill to support the team in delivering commercial HVAC projects involving equipment installation, refrigeration, sheet metal, pipe work, grilles and diffusers.

Position specific responsibilities:

• Perform work as per schedule of works, quality and specification and drawing requirements and in a manner that will not endanger yourself or others
• Liaise in a professional manner with site employees, subcontractors, suppliers, other project participants and clients
• Provide relevant information to the supervisor for inclusion in Daily Site Diary
• Ensure records, documentation and reports are completed as requested
• Resolve worksite issues quickly and effectively to keep work progress on track
• Use and maintain equipment correctly
• Advise the supervisor immediately of unsafe or potentially environmentally negative impact conditions or activities in the work area
• Report accidents, incidents and near misses to the supervisor
• Assist new site/workshop employees to recognise job hazards or environmental issues and follow required procedures

Knowledge and skills:

• Certificate III in Plumbing, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, or NZ equivalent (essential)
• Relevant Trade Certificate
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Professional with good self-awareness
• Organisational and time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Open to development and receptive to feedback
• Positive approach to change
• Competent in safe operation and maintenance of equipment
