Engineering Design Consultants Ltd (EDC) is a multi-disciplined engineering consultancy providing clients with an innovative, reliable, and friendly service with creative solutions ensuring a smooth pathway from conception to completion. EDC has offices on Auckland’s North Shore, Bay of Plenty in Whakatane, and Christchurch, specialising in geotechnical, structural, civil, environmental, land development, and fire engineering services.

EDC is looking for an Intermediate/Senior Civil Engineer based at their Auckland office and reporting to the Civil Director. This role will focus on delivering excellent service and advice across a wide range of civil infrastructure and development projects, reporting, designing, and building strong and trusted relationships with clients. You will be responsible for:

  • Infrastructure investigations, concept evaluation, reporting, design, and site supervision 
  • Civil engineering work including stormwater, wastewater, water supply, and roading infrastructure for land, residential and commercial developments
  • Liaising and advising clients and other professionals completing projects from start to finish
  • Managing site inspections during construction maintaining a high level of quality control
  • Flood plain modeling, bulk earthworks, and sediment control drawings

A little more about you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, with strong professional experience based in New Zealand
  • Chartered Professional Engineering (CPEng), or working toward professional registration
  • Ability to build strong lasting relationships with excellent inter-personal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritise conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using Civil3D software and knowledge of Council EPA inspection and sign-offs
  • A great sense of humour, a positive attitude, and the drive to succeed and grow others
