Beyond Recruitment Looking for Distribution Manager at Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand Full Time

Our client is a well-established, family owned business, whose origins date back to the 19th century. We are excited to be partnering with them in their search for a Christchurch Distribution Manager.

The Role

Reporting to the National Distribution Manager (Auckland), your role will be to manage and lead a team of 12 in the areas of inventory, storage, transportation and delivery of goods.

You will wear many hats, and that is part of what keeps the role interesting – as well as the areas mentioned above, throw in HR, Financials, Reporting, Statutory Obligations and Building Management.

This is an established position but there is definitely room for you to make your mark and bring about change.

About You

You will be an experienced logistics/warehousing/inventory management people leader. Our client is not looking for someone to “step up” in to this role – you will already be working at this level.

You know how to lead people and to get the best out of them, and whilst a roll the sleeves up mentality is important, it is more important that you are able to manage and motivate the team.

It is critical you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You are an achiever, energetic, assertive and disciplined.

You will need to be computer savvy and process driven.

Bring your tenacity and great sense of humour as well!

A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable.
