Zoo Experience & Education Supervisor

Location: Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Surrey, KT9 2NE
Hours: Full time, permanent, averaging 40 hours per week which will include weekends and bank holidays.

We’re currently looking for a Zoo Experience & Education Supervisor to join our Zoo team at Britain’s Wildest Adventure!

About the Role

Leading the Zoo Experience Team to deliver the best possible guest experience, you will have an innovative approach to zoo delivery, driving standards of zoo talks, walkthrough attractions (such as Lorikeet Lagoon, Amazu monkey walkthrough and Children’s Zoo) and interpretation, whilst also being passionate about the SEALIFE centre and ensuring delivery of engaging interpretation, and fun insightful talks and interactions.

In this role you will also be required to ensure VIP experiences are delivered to the highest standard, engaging with guests in a professional, safe and on-brand manner and ensuring consistency across the Zoo experiences.

Alongside the experience function, you will be coordinating the education function of Chessington Zoo. As part of this you will research, produce and deliver educational talks on a wide variety of subjects, produce a compelling range of educational activities to drive school visit volumes, and expand and enhance the role of education within the organisation by extending the scope of subjects and facilities offered while remaining within budget.

What we’re looking for

• Understanding of guest experience delivery, how to engage guests with educational messages in an adventurous way and making sure guest feedback leads decision making

• Hardworking people manager with drive and passion for customer service and staff engagement

• Able to manage and promote the compliance and adherence to all relevant Health & Safety Procedures and Protocols in line with legal and company requirements

• Consistent track record of managing a team with drive and passion

• Organised and flexible with the business needs

• Able to communicate to large teams and the wider Resort in areas such as meetings, project planning, marketing and daily duty management, as well as collaborating closely with schools and colleges to ensure their requirements are met.

• Actively evolve with change and business requirements and keep up to date within your field
