Overview BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Within the AFLCMC/HI Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate (BES), the Requirements Management System (RMS) computes procurement and repair requirements for spares and major equipment items in support of AF weapon systems (F-35, F22, F-15, F-16, A-10, C-130, C-17, C-5, etc.). The results of the computations provide the AF with accurate and timely information that is crucial for the strategic planning, forecasting, management, direction, and operational control of logistics resources. RMS is comprised of five systems, RMS-D200, DD1000, Other War Reserve Materiel Requirements (OWRMR), Requirements and Spares Support Lists (RSSL) and Weapon System Support Program (WSSP). RMS-D200 has three primary functions as follows in the programs support of spares and major equipment items in support of AF weapon systems. The following is not in any order of precedence. RMS determines the optimum allocation of funds and control funds execution as well as the optimum allocation of materiel procurement, repair, termination, and disposal quantities. The RMS program collects and maintains the logistics past experience data to include flying hours, inventory, sorties, and engine overhaul statistics as well as future weapon system force readiness and activity plans, including planned maintenance and modification schedules. In addition, the RMS program supports decision-making to plan, program, and budget funds. RSSL transmits information to DLA on quantities of consumable items of War Reserve Materiel (WRM) required for support of forces, missions, and activations cited in AF war plans. WSSP provides capability to send & receive AF weapons system data to support DLA in making stock- related decisions on AF consumable parts requirements. OWRMR computes other war reserve material requirements of the DLA, the GSA, and other service managed budget code-nine hardware items used by the Air Force. And DD1000 – produces the Supply System Inventory Report (SSIR) report from data files received from the D200. What you will do The successful candidate will perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of systems engineering to the acquisition process. The individual shall be able to: Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics. Prepares management reports and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems Provide system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/ initiatives, including but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight. Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with AF SEAM processes What you need to have Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret clearance BA/BS degree with 5+ years of experience, or; Associates Degree with 7+ years of experience, or; Advanced Degree (MA/MS) with 3+ years of experience, or; PhD with some professional experience, or; 9+ years of professional experience, with no degree Strong experience related to design and implementation of Web based Business IT systems The successful candidate possesses the advanced knowledge, experience and recognized ability to be considered an expert in their technical/professional field, possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level personnel within the technical/professional discipline. Will demonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures and practices in their area of expertise.
