Business Overview:

We are seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP) in the Data Privacy Protection management (DPPM) team to help us improve our management and controls of personal information (PI) through the implementation of a repeatable process and methodology to assess Data Privacy Risks, respond to those risks, and monitor implementation of control enhancement action plans accordingly.

The position will reports hierarchically to the BNP Paribas CIB Americas Data Privacy and Protection Manager, who reports to CIB Americas Chief Data Officer (CDO).

Responsibilities:

• Data Privacy support
  • Coordinate stakeholders throughout implementation phase until full transition to BaU
  • Proactively identify weaknesses or areas of improvement and suggest solution to stakeholders
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders, gather relevant input and proposes options, sometimes clarifies pros and cons so that the stakeholders party tasks are as clear, simple and timely as possible
  • Checks whether stakeholders deliverables (e.g, risk assessment, Transfer Impact Assessment) meets the quality requirements
• Data Protection Support
  • Support stakeholders in Data Loss Risk Management framework by providing guidance in the risk assessment of their activities and the design of remediation action plan
  • Proactively identify weaknesses or areas of improvement and suggest solution to stakeholders
  • Execute and report on DPPM’s own actions
• Project management & execution
  • Execute specific workstreams from the Data Privacy program
  • Define actionable and shared deliverables, document and collect feedbacks
  • Document business requirements and design tactical solution / Proof of Concept to satisfy short term expectation and help the design of strategic solution
  • Work closely with key stakeholders (i.e. EDMS teams, IT, Business, Functions, RISK, Legal, etc.) to define reasonable and acceptable solutions
  • Organize or facilitate meetings, including documentation, and perform diligent follow-up
  • Ensure proper project archiving in available project management tool or SharePoint
  • Maintain detailed documentation and KPIs of projects portfolios
• Change Management
  • Promote a culture of data privacy and protection compliance within the organization
  • Facilitate training session or working session to educate BNPP staff employees about data compliance
• Support the DDPM team as needed
  • Contribute to the preparation of presentations and committees
  • Identify, develop and promote continuous improvement initiatives

Required qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• 5 plus years of professional experience ideally in data governance or data privacy
• Preferred experience in data management, governance, privacy, controls or process improvement.
• Experience preparing senior management presentations and large data sets in excel
• Analytical and problem solving, with a strong sense for processes, analysis, and documentation
• Rigorous, pro-active, self-disciplined, self-motivated
• Able to manage changing priorities and meet high quality standards in a fast-paced environment
• Creative thinker and problem solver with an eye toward leveraging data and technology to create more efficient business processes, and automate and integrate critical workflow processes and controls
• Data protection or data privacy certifications strongly recommended
