Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

• Applicants should be eager to learn, be self-motivated and have a desire to become a team leader.

• This person will perform a variety of duties designed to service, repair and maintain Boart Longyear’s Fleet of coring and sonic drill rigs and support equipment.

• Some of the repairs you will be performing include working an electric powered hydraulic system, diesel powered hydraulic systems and machinery as well as high pressure pneumatic systems.

• Must have the ability to diagnose hydraulic problems in equipment and be able to perform quick turnaround to get these rigs back in operation.

• Electrical certification desired

• Mechanic must be able to remain in a standing position for extended periods of time. You need to be able to lift your arms above shoulder level to install and remove broken or worn out components.

• You must have skills in the care and use of hand and power tools and be able to manipulate these tools in areas of limited space.

• You must be able to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.

• Perform routine maintenance of equipment.

• Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions

• Be willing to travel

• Must be able to work well with others and have a positive attitude

• Must be able to communicate with supervisor, driller and safety personnel

• Must be able to work with little or no supervision

Qualifications:

• Hydraulic systems experience is a plus

• Knowledge of high-pressure air systems, i.e. screw compressors and boosters is a plus.

• Knowledge of duplex and triplex mud pumps is a plus.

• Electrical experience or certification is a plus.

• Be able to lift 100 pounds frequently

• Pass a drug screen

• Pass a background check

• Must have own tools

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to attain a CDL

• Must be able to be MSHA/OSHA certified

Education and Experience:

Typically requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1-3 years of directly related experience.
