The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia’s Aerospace Engineering & Production Capability provides people, expertise, process and tools to manage aircraft design, repair and continuing airworthiness capabilities supporting program execution and growth opportunities. Forward looking, the team has developed a Capability Plan to meet our Defence customers’ evolving needs, both in Australia and internationally.
The Capability delivers modification, repair and continuing airworthiness services to support Defence’s Boeing-managed aircraft fleets and complex communication systems. We work hand-in-hand with our customers to develop and deliver critical capabilities to support their mission now and into the future.
We have a newly created role for an experienced Software Avionics Engineer to join the CH-47F Chinook program.
We are looking for someone who will embrace our company’s behaviours and values and who is willing to collaborate and innovate.
This role is based at Gallipoli Barracks (Enoggera), Brisbane.
As a Software Avionics Engineer within BDA, you will deliver Avionics / Software Design Engineering Services for the CH-47F aircraft to support the collection, distribution and analysis of CH-47F Aircraft Usage Data and Mission Planning software, develop engineering designs and investigate/solve avionics and software issues.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in either Avionics, Software, Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering that satisfies the requirements for membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
- Demonstrated previous experience in Software and Network integration and troubleshooting.
- Previous experience in aviation engineering activities including design development and engineering investigations relating to aircraft avionic systems.
- Understanding of the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) or civilian equivalent.
