The Software Engineer at Boeing Research and Technology Australia will form part of a team focussed on research and development for exciting new aerospace applications. The successful candidate will draw upon their software engineering skills to contribute to the development of innovative technologies that will be used throughout the Boeing enterprise. The role will expose the successful candidate to inspiring programs across the diversity of Boeing and provide the opportunity to develop software that makes a real impact on the world.
Responsibilities
- Developing innovative, scalable and modular software to address research problems.
- Contributing to the design of software architecture.
- Assisting with project planning and execution.
- Supporting the successful transition of technology from R&D to a near production ready standard.
- Ensuring the application of software development best practices.
- Acquiring, assimilating, and reporting on findings from research activities.
- Understanding technical needs within the business in order to assist with defining research and development goals.
To be successful you will have:
- An undergraduate degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of industry software development experience
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in core JavaScript, NodeJS, and PHP.
- Experience working with SVG, WebGL, OpenGL, D3.js, Chart.js Three.JS and Two.JS.
- Experience working with Git.
- Solid understanding of software design principles and SDLC.
- Experience with open-source databases like MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.
- Experience with mobile app development.
- Commitment to learn and adapt to the ever-changing technology landscape.
Desirable skills include:
- Experience working in C++.
- Experience with communication technologies such as WebSockets/WebRTC/QUIC/Protobuf.
- Experience designing distributed and horizontally scalable software architecture.
