Midwinter, a Bravura Company is looking for an ambitious Graduate with a strong passion for developing and cementing your career within a FinTech software development services industry. Reporting to a Development Manager and working with a team of experts your role will see you breaking down large business and technical problems, solving them systematically, crafting and testing high quality, maintainable and efficient code to meet our industry-leading, international customer requirements.

With an agile mindset and a can-do attitude, you will gain exposure to all elements of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). A typical day will also involve some of the following activities:

• Participate in software builds
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of releases
• Provide assistance as required to other Developers, Business and Test Analysts
• Develop and execute effective unit and function tests of software changes
• Undertake troubleshooting and problem solving of software defects
• Complete entry-level software design and estimation activities for software changes
• Debug code to identify and rectify defects or data issues

What you’ll need to succeed

• Must have a completed Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and you achieved strong academics with the desire to accelerate your career in development
• Experience developing high quality, maintainable and testable code, and a good understanding of development best practice
• Understanding of software design patterns
• You can demonstrate your learning across a variety of languages, ideally Java frameworks and web services

Other desirable skills include:

• Relational Database, SQL and Entity-Relationship design
• Web development experience (REST, SOAP, JAX-WS, HTML, CSS, JSF, Angular) and source control using GIT
• Object Orientated Design and development methods and practices
• Code refactoring & use of design and code patterns
