About the role:
We have several opportunities for Production Operatives to join our growing manufacturing team on a 12 Month contract basis.
As a Production Operative you will work to achieve the required quality standards and contribute towards achieving budgeted site performance through the effective control, operation and maintenance of the relevant equipment.
You will drive continuous improvement through a structured approach using individual/team skills and utilising systematic processes e.g., root cause problem solving, lean manufacturing techniques and other designated production, maintenance, and planning tools.

We believe we are stronger together and as a Production Operative you will ensure that all production is manufactured in accordance with the quality, food safety and health and safety standards as specified in relevant site documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate equipment in accordance with best practice complying with health and safety rules and regulations and Britvic policies and procedures
2. Provide a comprehensive production service across the site, operating plant, carrying out maintenance & cleaning schedules as designated, responding to breakdown and assessing & monitoring plant performance on an ongoing basis
3. Support other team members and develop positive relationships with colleagues, including contract personnel
4. Comply with company policies and statutory regulations for health & safety and environment
5. Adhering to operational procedures and production timelines
6. Keeping work areas and the factory floor clean and free from hazardous material
7. Monitoring a production line and conducting basic testing and quality checks
8. Storing goods and raw materials in a factory or warehouse, which may involve operating lifting equipment and forklift trucks
9. Carry out all necessary quality assurance analysis in-house and update information/QA /EWM systems and all other process duties in a timely manner.
10. Acquire, share & apply new skills to drive Continuous Improvement.
11. Develop and attain world class standards of performance/excellence using agreed KPI’s l(overall equipment effectiveness)
12. Participate in competency- based training programmes and apply learnings
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
1. Direct Manufacturing Operational experience working in a fast paced, Consumer goods environment
2. Previous skills in the theory and application of Total Productive Maintenance and improvement principles whilst in the operation/control of machinery
3. Working knowledge of SAP & EWM
4. Excellent, communication, team support and facilitation skills
5. Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes
6. Sound knowledge of HSE processes and application
7. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities
8. Working knowledge and application of reliability centred maintenance e.g. first response and support to annual O/H’s
9. Takes pride in their approach to work.
10. Have a clear, consistent focus on improving ways of working and processes
11. Supports a culture of continuous improvement
12. Takes a positive role in developing the skills of others
13. Motivates others to work together through effective team work
