Summary

Responsible for maintaining training device network hardware and software on a highly complex F16 Flight Simulator Training Program. Accomplish System Administration (SA) duties such as monitoring network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. May supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures. Assist in a variety of technical maintenance duties for electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical equipment systems. Perform operation, complete pre and post flight inspections, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Troubleshoot and evaluate user problems and system malfunctions on systems such as complex networked computer systems, Servers, Operating Systems, visual & display systems, video & audio systems, high voltage systems, and interface & peripheral systems. Troubleshoot and repair at component level. Responsible for accurately entering and maintaining documentation of repairs, inventory, and other associated trainer documentation. Able to use electronic test equipment including DVMs, Oscilloscopes, and Light meters. Have an active SECRET Clearance or be able to obtain one; (must be U.S. Citizen).

Perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas in support of F16.

• Applies extensive knowledge of a variety of System Administration (SA) field’s concepts, practices, and procedures to ensure the secure integration and operation of all enclave systems.
• Support the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software applications ensuring integration with IA security requirements for the enclave.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience using and installing networking equipment such as switches, routers and firewalls.
• Network administration to perform scans and Information Security Officer tasks
• Install, maintain, repair, calibrate and test flight simulators, and other support equipment
• Install changes and updates to simulators and support equipment as required
• Perform required readiness checks on flight simulation equipment and instruments
• Conduct and document preventative maintenance checks required for simulator and support equipment
• Troubleshoot, repair, and document malfunctions of simulators and support equipment
• Remove and replace faulty equipment and complete maintenance data collection records
• Assist with installation and check-out of simulator and support equipment modifications
• Assist with general field site facility activities as required
• Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions
• Apply comprehensive knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents
• Perform other related duties as required by the supervisor or site manager

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
• Active Secret Clearance with a reinvestigation date within the last 6 years, or be able to obtain; (must be U.S. Citizen)
• Bachelor’s Degree or a two-year electronic technician resident course at an accredited technical institute and/or military technical training and equivalent electronics maintenance experience on equipment of similar complexity.
• Must have at least 4 years’ electronic maintenance experience and have demonstrated competence by satisfactory progressive performance in electronic maintenance on simulation systems of comparable complexity to those supported on this program.
• This position requires experience in largescale integrated multi-computer systems, video generation and display systems, large-scale complex digital interfaces, high density cable/plug repair, software maintenance, and comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of general training device peripheral systems.
• Security + /Comp TiA Certification

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

• Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment

This job operates in both the flight simulator and professional office environments. This role routinely uses standard electronics and networking tools and test equipment; and office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under the device.
• Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
• Must be able to distinguish colors.
• Shop floor environment.
• Will be working in areas w/ risk of electrical shock from electronically moving mechanical parts.
• Will at times be exposed to the following conditions: extreme heat, airborne particles, loud noises.
