Background to the Organisation
We are a leader in transformational data science and AI training, career development and progression and have been delivering training in the data sector since 2016. This includes delivering both apprenticeships, since 2018, and commercially funded training.
Our training programs are built on our proprietary AI-powered platform, EDUKATE, which we believe improves the learning capability of our apprentices and wider learner community. EDUKATE also allows us to deliver learning beyond that which is required by the apprenticeship standards we offer, and to assist our learners in the development of their careers. Our goal is to empower the entire global workforce to reap the benefits of data science and AI. The company is headquartered in Cambridge, UK, with an office and educational campus in King Cross, London.
We are an education technology company that enables organisations to achieve their business goals by educating their workforce in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence.
The demand for data science professionals has tripled over the last five years (+231%), according to a report by The Royal Society. However, thousands of job roles continue to go unfilled as organisations struggle to find the talent they need. Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers are amongst those that are most sought after. But there simply aren’t enough people being trained to meet the emerging demand.
While organisations are making tracks to invest heavily in data science and AI, the lack of talent is holding back progress. In a study by Rainbird, 81% of UK businesses said a shortage of talent is the main hurdle to AI adoption. Even non-technical roles like HR, Marketing and Sales now require data science skills. The World Economic Forum reports that more than half of all employees will require significant upskilling by 2022.
Now, employers can grow and retain data science talent within their organisation through our portfolio of apprenticeship programmes. Apprenticeships offer a well-defined route for both new entrants and existing employees to upskill and progress into technical roles with career pathways supported by our apprenticeship programmes including Data Analyst, Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer.
Customer Focus: Our platform makes a great difference but our relationships make an even greater one: we are committed to delivering great customer experience. We work with openness, transparency and have fun along the way.
Gold Standard: We are experts in our field and constantly developing our technology and offering. We set the benchmark in our industry: both in what we offer customers and in how we deliver it.
Entrepreneurial Spirit: Everyone is encouraged to take initiative and show entrepreneurial spirit which fuels innovation at Cambridge Spark. This includes identifying opportunities for improvement, taking ownership for implementing solutions effectively, and driving improvement by using proof of concepts to demonstrate the feasibility and value of their work.
Team Spirit: Everyone is part of building an open and transparent culture, communicating effectively to raise issues, discuss improvements and share the evidence used to make decisions.
