Role Responsibility

This role will provide advanced level support for our supported MIS software (SIMS, Arbor & Bromcom) to Cantium customers. You will be responding to incidents, requests, and problems as appropriate as well as providing training to Cantium customers and colleagues. You will be leading on the delivery and development of some courses, providing advice and guidance to Cantium customers on the best use of their MIS software.

This position would ideally suit either someone with an MIS support background or who has direct experience working in a school that uses the relevant MIS Software.

Job Purpose:

Providing advanced level support for supported MIS software to Cantium customers, responding to incidents, requests and problems as appropriate. Providing training to Cantium customers and colleagues leading on the delivery and development of some courses. Providing advice and guidance to Cantium customers on the best use of their MIS software.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Identify and resolve issues with supported applications ensuring all requests are dealt with in according to agreed procedures. This may involve logging a call with third party suppliers.

• Monitors and analyses the progress of requests for support and ensures users and other interested parties are kept informed. Takes corrective action to avoid or minimise delays.

• Provides advice and guidance to less experienced colleagues where required and may be required to mentor junior staff members.

• Act as a consultant supporting commercial activities around the implementation, enhancement and support of MIS software which lead to school improvement and improvements in outcomes.

• Teaches, instructs and/or trains customer’s relevant knowledge, techniques and skills using appropriate methods, equipment and materials.

• Leads on the development and updating of training courses, including bespoke tailored to the needs of the customer.

• Liaises with systems development staff or software suppliers on the development of system enhancements to overcome known problems or further fulfil user requirements.

• Any other duties consistent in nature with those outlined above.

What we need from you:

• Level 4 Qualification (or equivalent) and/or relevant experience.
• IT Service Management Qualification (e.g. ITIL) and/or relevant

experience.

• Experience of delivering MIS application support
• Significant experience undertaking teaching/training with adults.
• Significant experience of working in a customer service

environment

• Ability to learn new software/hardware in depth quickly by taking

responsibility for own development and improvement, as well as
supporting more junior staff.

• Proficient in the selection and application of information gathering

methods, tools and techniques which are appropriate to the
information required and the sources available.

• Able to write, develop and deliver training courses as required.
• Strong oral and written communications skills; ability to adjust

approach dependant on audience to ensure understanding of
technically complex solutions.
