About the role:
The key priorities role of the LAC & Welfare Officer is to promote the health, safety and well-being of all students, including those most vulnerable. This will include promoting good Safeguarding practice across the College sites as one of the designated safeguarding leads, to implement Westminster Kingsway’s Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and procedures. You will be responsible for coordinating statutory reviews for Looked After students and facilitating and supporting students for Personal Education Plan reviews. You will also provide appropriate welfare and pastoral support to any student in need.

About you:
With appropriate experience and qualifications reflecting a strong background in safeguarding you will have Demonstrable knowledge of the principles involved in providing advice and guidance to young peopleYou will have an understanding of the needs of Looked after Children and Care Leavers and Demonstrable knowledge of Prevent strategy, including the promotion of British Values.
