Key Role Details

• Capital One Developer Academy (CODA) is a 6-month full-stack training program and new hires for this role start as a cohort in February 2023 or August 2023

• This role is a paid full-time associate position that engages those from analytical non-Computer Science backgrounds hoping to launch a career in Software Engineering

• Upon successful completion of the 6 month CODA program, CODA graduates enter the 18 month SWE rotational program, Technology Development Program (TDP)

At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or higher in a non-computer science major with an expectation that the degree will be obtained by August 2023 or earlier

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career as a software engineer through activities such as: hackathons, personal technical projects, tech training platforms, elected coursework, or other relevant engagement in software engineering field

• Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and conceptual skills

• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills

What we offer:

Capital One Developer Academy (CODA) is a unique, intensive six-month training program that prepares individuals from analytical and non-Computer Science backgrounds for a Software Engineering career at Capital One. It’s a program that equips you for the future and helps you build your career in tech. As a CODA Associate, you’ll spend six months learning to code from skilled Capital One Software Engineers who will mentor you throughout the program. Upon successful completion of the program, Associates will then join our Technology Development Program (TDP), an 18 month rotational program for full-time software engineers.

Candidates majoring in computer science are encouraged and eligible to apply to Capital One’s Technology Development Program (TDP) instead of CODA.

• Programming knowledge and proficiency in full stack development (think JavaScript, Angular, databases, Node, Cloud Engineering, Cyber Security, and API development), as well as a host of new technologies that our engineers are using every single day.

• Mentorship and training to build your skills on topics like iOS and Android, AWS, the Software Development Life Cycle, Voice Driven Applications, Machine Learning, and more.

Continuous Learning

Your learning doesn’t stop upon successful completion of the CODA program. Our engineers have access to continuous learning through our very own Tech College, a world-class learning hub that offers classes across 7 disciplines—Agile, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Data Engineering, Machine Learning & AI, Mobile Development, and Software Engineering.
