A General Laborer is an important role to play in the daily operations of our facility. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. Responsible for daily completion of production processes within a work area, operational department, operational support area, or technical domain. While performing the duties of General Laborer, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or cold conditions with slippery surfaces at varied heights; moving mechanical parts; fast paced, temperature-controlled environments. Positions require standing the entire shift, the use of stairs, potential heavy lifting, and repetitive motion. As safety is our number one priority all company safety policies and procedures must be adhered to including the use of departmental specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Pay Rate: $ 27.24 / hour

Shifts Available: Rotating shifts

Principal Accountabilities:
Load and receive incoming and outgoing trucks per plant requirements

Sweeping and cleaning up the warehouse

Execute day-to-day activities including but not limited to, cutting, packaging, picking, sorting & moving product

Ensure that production outcomes and quality fulfill customer specifications

Safety procedures

Assisting Machine Operator and Lead hand

Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations.

Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.

Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old.

Must be able to read/write English

High School diploma or equivalent

Basic computer skills

Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts

Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Must be able to operate machinery

Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold

Forklift experience

Must be able to operate heavy equipment

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work overtime

Feed Manufacturing Experience
