Job Purpose and Impact

The Tropical Oils Senior Trader will be the subject matter expert for Palm Oil in North America. This role will be responsible to trade and manage the anticipatory and hedge positions for the US Tropical Oils Desk. In this role, you will independently generate income and control risks by performing more complex trading work, with a higher risk tolerance. This role’s primary work hours will overlap US and Asia time zones. This role will have a high degree of interaction with the Cargill Global GEOS Trading Team and World Trade Group.

Key Accountabilities

• Development of trading strategies in conjunction with the GEOS Global Trading Group and World Trade Group.

• Apply a deep understanding of trading practices and procedures to develop and execute the long-term trading strategies and books for tropical oils based on speculative and hedged positions.

• Monitor our team’s profit and loss on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

• Independently handle and monitor higher trading positions and exposures that include physical, derivative, currency, and ocean freight risk positions.

• Work with strategic brokers, customers and agents, as needed, to manage and monitor higher-risk trading positions.

• Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• Minimum of six years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICAIONS:

• Minimum 10 years trading derivative markets
