Principal Accountabilities:
Ensuring food safety and quality

Maintaining a safe work environment

Trimming and cutting meat

Assisting Machine Operator

Picking, sorting, labeling, bagging, packing, weighing and boxing finished product

Lifting from 20lbs. up to 60lbs

Working with raw meat particularly but not limited to Beef

Ability to work in a cold environment (0-4 Celsius) or hot environment (Temperature controlled)

Must be able to stand on your feet for 8 hours and complete physically repetitive labor in a fast paced environment

Cleanliness and housekeeping

Required Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Must be 18 years or older

Must pass Company Medical Examination

Must pass Criminal Background Check

Good communication (MUST be able to read, write and speak English)

Acceptable attendance record (up to the discretion of the Company; internal only)

Basic knowledge of safe food handling practices Assisting Machine Operator

Basic knowledge of employee safety practices

Basic math skills (read and compare weights and measurements, add, subtract, multiply, divide, coordinate lot #’s with orders, etc.)

Ability to stand for several hours at a time, lift up to 50 pounds, work in hot, humid environment and use tools (knife, hook, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
Beef processing Experience with knife experience

Ability to learn technical procedures and concepts

Strong understanding of CFIA requirements

Able to deal with conflict (able to enforce procedures)
