Manager, Operations Planning
Position Summary:

An Operations Planning Manager’s primary role is to lead the team of Operations Planners and oversee the site-wide inventory management processes. The Operations Planning team translates the strategic business portfolio, new and on-going client project orders, and other resource-critical work within the facility into a manageable portfolio of activities that can be scheduled, implemented, and monitored for compliance with commitments made to clients. This may include overseeing, and developing as needed, clinical and commercial demand data, control procedures and practices for effective scheduling, work order creation, readiness management and execution tracking for manufacturing and packaging activities. Responsibilities include coordination of data integrity management, intra-departmental process standardization, quality event response and team development.
This is a full-time role, salaried position: Monday – Friday
Catalent Biologics in Bloomington, Indiana is a state-of-the-art, GMP manufacturing facility, providing one million sq/ft of drug substance manufacturing, drug product manufacturing, and related pharmaceutical services. The Role
Oversee team of Operations Planners creating and analyzing work orders, generating finite schedules and facilitating routine ready to execute cross-functional discussions.
Perform e mployee performance evaluations, new employee hiring, disciplinary notices, employee termination, according to company guidelines and performance requirements.
Coaches team to identify and communicate scheduling conflicts to the BU and Supply Chain Management to obtain resolutions; communicates decisions to the individual teams affected by the schedule changes.
Provide leadership and guidance for establishing and documenting consistent processes for shop floor scheduling and overall execution of the major asset schedules.
Ensure schedule data integrity through coordination of team priorities; focusing on creation of firm demand within the ERP system and alignment of scheduled start and end dates.
Support internal and external schedule escalation discussions to ensure alignment with Client needs and Catalent contractual obligations.
Definition, standardization, collection and reporting of standard production planning metrics; including but not limited to schedule adherence, on time starts and on time delivery.
Development, implementation and facilitation of the site-wide cross-functional Material Review board (MRB) process.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in materials planning, procurement, or equivalent education and training. An undergraduate degree is required for hire.
Possession of an APICs accredited certification is a plus
5+ years of recent experience in a production planning, manufacturing or other related role in an ERP or GMP environment
ERP experience and knowledge is required for this role
MS Office skills
Understanding of regulatory requirements
