Job Summary

Monitors process equipment, performs minor maintenance duties on process equipment and troubleshoots plant. Process problems.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitors process equipment by visual inspection, instrument readings, equipment noise and prepare shift log to identify equipment status
• Identify, troubleshoot and correct minor equipment problems or failures and takes action to correct problems or recommends action to be taken
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on process equipment
• Perform minor mechanical maintenance repairs on process equipment
• Operate yard equipment to maintain plant production
• Perform visual safety inspections on plant property and makes immediate corrections or recommends action to be taken
• Use hand tools to repair equipment
• Maintain work areas according to plant housekeeping standards
• Prepare work orders to correct problems for supervisor approval before being forward to the Maintenance Department
• Assist with performing equipment and procedural testing and records test data
• Recommends improvements to process controls
• Performs any other duties as assigned by a supervisor

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Current plant employee or prefer one (1) year of manufacturing plant experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic reading, writing and math skills
• Ability to use hand tools, measuring tools and devices such as gauges and meters
• Prefer ability to operate forklift, front end loader and dump truck
• Prefer basic welding and cutting skills

Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise and working outdoors
• Must wear all necessary protective equipment while at the location
• Must be able to work outside most of the time

Physical Requirements

• Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to a significant degree
• Heavy work-exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
• Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning and/or pulling of controls.
