Job Description
Reporting to the Manager of the Project Engineering team, the Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading projects through the full project lifecycle. This primarily entails supporting project scoping, managing cost/schedule, conducting detailed engineering design, coordinating all key stakeholders, leading major material procurement, and supporting construction / commissioning activities. Within Upstream Conventional, the focus for this role will be managing and executing numerous fast-paced OpsCap brownfield projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Accountable for project performance with respect to safety, cost, and schedule
• Lead in-house discipline engineering resources and 3rd party engineering consultants to drive efficient project execution
• Promote safety as a core value in their approach to design and execution of work. Champion a focus on Process Safety in design and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical infrastructure engineering support & mentorship to the Operations Engineers, Plant Engineers, and Field Operations. This includes project scoping, design, cost estimating, and execution
• Key stakeholder in the Management of Change (MOC) process
• Support the application of Cenovus’ Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP).
• Provide mentorship in area of expertise to other staff. Leverage peer knowledge to bolster understanding in areas of less experience. Encourage a positive workplace, a culture of knowledge sharing and open communication.
• Engage key stakeholders (including Construction, Operations/Maintenance, Automation, Supply Chain, Measurement, Finance, and Joint Interest) to sustain business performance, challenge anomalies, identify and implement opportunities to optimize value.
