Chemours is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspection Coordinator to join our Chemours Capital Procurement team! This position will report directly to the Capital Procurement Quality Assurance (QA) Manager in our Wilmington, DE or Remote location.
The QA Inspection Coordinator will support capital project teams by coordinating internal and third-party resources for new equipment fabrication and major equipment repairs. This role will be leveraged globally to support all projects and repairs with inspection needs.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Interface with project team/site members to determine which orders require inspection and the scope of inspection to be applied to a request for proposal including Inspection & Test Plan Checklists maintained by Engineering.
Estimate procurement inspection budgets and track inspection hours. Create and Maintain Tracking systems for all inspection activities, hours, expenses, and invoices.
Ensure project authorization and funding for all inspection activities and coordination PRIOR to inspections. (SAP and Capital Time System Work Orders)
Manage Company and/or Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agency inspectors during procurement inspection. This role will be the contract administrator for these agency agreements.
Ensure supplier inspection and test plans have been reviewed with Engineering and are in place for each purchase order.
Assign approved inspector to a purchase order based on availability, proximity to inspection site, product knowledge and reviewing CVs to ensure the level of expertise required.
Generate Inspection Assignment packages for delivery to inspectors.
Provide input and guidance in Fabrication Meetings with suppliers and the project team including Prefab/Kickoff meetings.
Ensure timely receipt of clearly written inspection reports, review and address identified non-conformances. Interface with inspector, Engineering, and other parties as required.
Ensure proper distribution within the project team
Liaise with TPI inspection agencies and verify inspector time sheets.
Review supplier inspection and test plans, NDE and inspection procedures, welding, special processes deliverables and/or coordinate review with Company in-house Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Participate in QA auditing of new and existing suppliers.
Contribute to QA work processes improvement and interface with regions outside North America.
Interface and provide feedback to the Capital Procurement QA Manager on quality issues, supplier performance, recommendations to improve work processes.
The following is required for this role:
10+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in a large capital project environment in Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Power or other related heavy construction industries with a focus on the Procurement QA QC function.
7-10 years’ experience in new equipment fabrication with a focus on executing the procurement QA/QC function
Strong working knowledge of ASME code, NDE, welding, dimensional measurements, special processes, coating/painting, material test reports, and shipment inspections.
Project leadership and procurement inspector management skills
The following is preferred for this role:
Auditor experience and/or certification to a recognized body
Bachelor’s degree is preferred
Experience using SAP or alternate ERP system
Skill with on-line collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint)
