We‘relooking for aHealth, Safety&WellbeingAdvisor to join our team, whowill be integral in driving HSW to the next level across all Council functions.

You will play a crucial role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment at Council and we are especially interested in candidates experienced in Council operations who also have a strong background in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing. We are a team focussed on improving the maturity of our service area and influencing improvement though our excellent relationships.

We’re looking for dedicated people to join our team and some of the key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement HSW programs tailored to the unique environment of Christchurch City Council
• Proactively influence and coach leaders on health and wellbeing best practice.
• Research and monitor industry trends, provide advice, innovation, and global best practice in wellbeing.
• Champion psychosocial hazard and associated critical risk management, and provide advice and drive wellbeing into our leadership strategy.
• Drive wellbeing behavioural changes and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
• Build and foster relationships with leaders, staff and key stakeholders to enable meaningful collaboration.
• Continuously educate, coach and mentor managers and employees in health, safety&wellbeing business systems and processes, therefore advancing our health, safety&Wellbeing culture.
• Identify areas of improvement, make recommendations and implement the processes.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:-

• Demonstrated competency in Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
• Relevantexperience and/orqualification in Wellbeing,Health, Occupational HealthorPsychology.
• Solid analytical&reporting skills and the know-how to demonstrate your ability to identify opportunities for improvement of operational performance in a business.
• Your passion for health, safety and wellbeing will be apparent as you partnerand influence ourstakeholdersacrossthe organisation.
• Your written and verbal communication skills, as well as your strong computer literacy will afford you every opportunity to succeed in these diverse and rewarding roles.
• An ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Hours of work – Fulltime Permanent Position

Location – This position is primarily based at53 Hereford Street, Christchurch

Salary –The salary band for this position goes from $85,015 – $94,461 per annum. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
