Circles of Care Child Placement Hiring for Contractor – Family Support Specialist at Remote Full Time

Circles of Care is an accredited, private mental health and social services organization based in Corpus Christi. The agency was founded by its current president in 1999 and has held the FAYS contract with DFPS since 2012. The agency seeks a Family Support Specialist to service this program on a contract basis for the Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. This is a contract position and not a full-time employment position. General duties include:

• Family Support Specialist will provide family and youth support and counseling to families under stress and conflict and with youth experiencing behavioral problems, truancy, and runaway.
• Family Support Specialist will also provide parenting classes, develop action plans, and monitor progress of family and youth.
• Intake, assessment, and discharge of clients into and from the program under the review of a licensed clinician.
• Family Support Specialist will forge connections with area schools, justice officials, CPS workers, and others to engage with the community.
• A Bachelor degree in the Human Services field and a minimum of one year experience is desired. In lieu of degree, five years of experience working with families and children is required.
• Routine annual training, including in the Strengthening Families curriculum, is required.
• Office from home with field work.
• Local travel and field work required as well as flexible hours and some after hours. The ability to drive to client homes or to public locations for sessions is required.
• The ability to work under minimum supervision and to meet deadlines is essential to this position.
• Fair computer skills and/or experience with electronic filing and data entry is required.
• Bilingual is preferred, but not required.

This is a contract position, and the chosen candidate will have the ability to work as much or as little as desired – no minimum quota. As a contractor, benefits are not provided. Contractor compensation is based on experience and is billed on a per session (minimum 35 minutes) basis. Compensation made bi-weekly.

Local travel and field work is required to accommodate clients. This is not a 100% virtual or remote position.
