Ecological Field Team – Christchurch

What’s the job?

Citycare Property is seeking fulltime permanent Restoration and Biodiversity team members to join our Open Space Maintenance division in Christchurch.

This role is responsible for undertaking ecological and biodiversity restoration work including pest plant control, native plant management and revegetation.

To be successful in this role it is crucial you bring a willingness to contribute to the wider team, are physically fit, and have a genuine enthusiasm for ecological and biodiversity works. Our Ecological team are also required to work with agrichemicals (herbicides).

Skills & Experience

We require the following skills and experience for this role;

• A high commitment to health and safety
• A clean Full Class 1 Drivers License (desirable)
• A genuine interest in working towards biodiversity and conservation efforts
• Pest plant and animal control/monitoring
• Native plant and pest plant identification
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong communication skills
• A good level of fitness.

We are eager to hear from candidates that may be interested in this area of work, and also those applicants who may have little training and/or experience. We invest in the development of our people and will provide external and internal training, including NZQA training.

Our ideal candidate will hold the following (current) qualifications and experience; Growsafe, First Aid, Chainsaw certification.
