City of Edmonton Looking for Mobility Data Assistant at Edmonton, AB Full Time

Reporting to the Supervisor, Mobility Monitoring, the primary purpose of the Mobility Data Assistant position is to provide data collection, processing, procurement, and administrative support to the Monitoring and Analysis team.

• Assist in data processing, including manual counting from the pre-recorded video
• Participate in field data collection as needed
• Run programs and produce reports and/or data files to update shared folders and websites
• Update location-related data and maps
• Conduct geocoding and validations to support mobility data collection, processing and reporting as well as update status on client requests
• Program traffic data collection equipment for data collection, download the equipment (NC, Miovision and Blackcat)
• Assist in the testing the upgrades to the data collection request management system as well as testing the reporting tools
• Respond to ad-hoc requests for mobility data and information managed by the Monitoring and Analysis team
• Provide contract and procurement support to the team related to purchasing, leasing, tenders, and contracts
• Prepare and process purchase requisitions, orders for required materials, supplies, and services as well as following up with vendors on shipment and delivery
• Provide clerical and administrative support to help ensure mobility data collection plans meet client needs
• Manage services and maintain office equipment and facilities, including repairs

• Completion of Grade 12, with courses related to the functions of the roles and responsibilities
• A minimum of 6 months of progressively responsible experience in administration and procurement
• Knowledge and experience with the Google suite of tools
• Considerable knowledge of City street names and locations, as well as the related transportation patterns
• Ability to concentrate and accurately count and record observed information while sitting, standing and/or walking for prolonged periods of time
• Good knowledge of procurement processes and SAP Ariba would be considered an asset
• Proficiency using mapping tools would be considered an asset
• Problem solving skills, maturity, independence and ability to work in a team environment
• Strong communication skills to meet and deal effectively with clients, co-workers, management and external partners
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and city staff, as necessitated by the work assigned
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver’s permit is a requirement of this position
• Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
• Ability to work outdoors under variable environmental conditions, occasionally wearing PPE and lifting up to 50 pounds

Up to 1 permanent full-time position

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday – Friday

The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.

Salary: $28.125 – $33.765 (Hourly), $49,549.220 – $59,485.490 (Annually)
