The City Events team run a varied programme of in-person and online events. This role supports the organisation of events across University Schools and Centres to showcase research, academic expertise and educational programmes. This may include public lectures, multi-day academic conferences and symposiums.
This role offers a development opportunity for someone with an events organisation background to enhance their experience in this area.
You will organise event logistics and liaise with facilities and suppliers including catering, booking venues, technical support and the Press Office. You will produce badges, signage, invitations, conference packs, and delegate lists for all events and create event web pages and booking forms using specialist software. You will also prepare budget estimates and client invoicing/recharges for events and produce event timelines for all events. Working together with other areas of Marketing and External Relations on large scale events where extra support is required.
We are looking for an ambitious, motivated Events Officer with excellent organisational, interpersonal, communication and project management skills. You will have demonstrable, relevant work experience within the events industry. Experience of maintaining financial records and working with event budgets is required. Computer literacy is also required, with experience of databases and familiarity with the full MS Suite. You will be able to manage and prioritise a diverse workload under pressure, and to deadline, with attention to accuracy and detail is required along with the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative with minimal supervision.
